Abhay Jain is the Advisor to Manipal Education & Medical Group (MEMG) since 2008. He looks after the infrastructure developments and government affairs. He also chairs the Group procurement committee. He is a board member of Manipal University Jaipur since 2011.
Abhay was the key person in building the first large green educational campus in India for the Group in Jaipur, Rajasthan acquiring a LEED Platinum and GRIHA Five-Star rating. He has also been involved in building green-field and retrofitting of large hospitals for the Group across India including building state-of-the-art student housing.
Abhay had earlier worked for a decade in the Aditya Birla Group. He also ran his own polymer distribution business for about ten years. Abhay has served as a board member of IIM-Bangalore and MNIT-Jaipur from 2004-2009.
Abhay has co-founded Akshaya Patra Foundation, which presently feeds 1.7 million meals to government school children across India. He is also a trustee of the “The Learning Society” offering scholarships to meritorious students. He played a pivotal role in building the Manipal University Jaipur Campus, which is now LEED Platinum and GRIHA Five-Star rated. He is also the core trustee of Balram Krishna Gaushala Jaipur, India’s largest single location gaushala with more than 25,000 cows.
Abhay holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from St. Joseph’s College of Arts & Science, Bangalore University and a Bachelor’s Degree in General Law from Sir Jagadguru Renukacharya College of Law, Bangalore University. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from St. Joseph’s College of Business Administration, Bangalore University.
